Thank you, Pokemon.

You know your kid has seen too much Pokemon (thank the big sister!) when you have conversations like this.
Donovan: Next time I play with Big Brother*, I will become Big Brother, and he will evolve into a new Donovan!
Of course he thought I was crazy when I tried to explain that it’s not possible for one person to become another person. Because, he reasoned…
Donovan: I was a baby, and then I evolved into a big boy, and next I will evolve into a grown-up! And then you will evolve into a kid!
Have you ever tried to explain to a 3-year-old why a person stays the same person as they grow and change throughout their lives, no matter how different they may seem? Or why people are always getting older, but can never become younger? Or how growing up is a constant process and that you cannot simply become four years old RIGHT NOW no matter how much you want to or how many “big boy” things you can do?
I think my brain will explode if I hear “but WHY NOT?” one more time. “Evolving” into a kid sounds pretty good right now.
(*Son of Firemom. Yes, he does have a real name.)
HA! I wonder if BigBrother can grasp evolution! HAHA!
I look forward to those days! Although, I’m sure when they arrive I’ll be pulling my hair out as well!
lol.. that’s amazing…
What? Big Brother has a real name? Say it isn’t so!
I think I’m going to try to evolve into something a little wealthier. I’m sure there is a Pokemon card for that.
Donovan, I choose you!!!
